I am happy to announce a new milestone: I am now a Yamaha Performing Artist, and I am the proud owner of a gorgeous new YM-6100 marimba!

I first heard this instrument on Keiko Abe’s recordings 20 years ago and fell in love. The first marimba I ever played was a Yamaha at my high school (at the time, the only rosewood instrument in my school district!), and my high school lessons with Don Bick were on a Yamaha marimba.

I am so honored to now be playing the same instrument as so many of my heroes: Keiko Abe, Pius Cheung, Noriko Tsukagoshi, Theo Milkov, and Emil Richards.

Big thanks to John Wittmann and the Yamaha team for their support!

I was thrilled to record a movement of Alejandro Viñao’s Book of Grooves on the new axe—the low C is absolutely unreal! Many thanks go out to Matt Kossick for being a great duo partner and Nick Sardello for his great recording skills!
